Baby Surprise Jacket - finished

Pattern: Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman (from The Knitting Workshop)
Yarn: Dream in Colour Smooshy in Wisteria
Needles: Size 3.25mm (US3) circs from Knitpicks

Well, that was interesting. It was kind of fun to see how all these bizarre instructions came together to form the most oddly shaped…THING…I have ever seen in my knitting life. But, as promised, it made an adorable jacket. I made a mistake on the final increases (that’ll teach me to knit when I have a fever), and I was so perturbed by it that I thought of ripping it back. On the other hand, we can go the lazy route…crocheted flower to cover up the mismatched corners. (They’re mismatched because I didn’t do the instructions properly – neither of them are right, but now you can’t see the difference. :P ) It came out kind of tiny. I got the gauge EZ recommended, but it’s just so tiny. It stretches like crazy though. I didn’t get around to blocking it due to my knitting malaise described in my previous post, but I’m sure it’ll end up being just fine. The mother-to-be LOVED it, and was quite taken by the flower, so design cover-up or no, it was a good move. The pattern for the flower came from the now-defucnt Adorn.com website for crochet. I thankfully was able to save it, because I’d like to make more for future projects.

Hello Christina, fancy finding you here after my Google search for the BSJ! I’m starting my first one, but it’s more of a practice one before doing the adult size pattern.
