Right…

I’m officially pissed off with this yarn.

Crap sock

But that isn’t the worst part, THIS is:
Horrible heel

It is just SHITE. First, that heel is gigantic. Then, what’s with the pooling all of a sudden? Why did my stripes at the top change size? I would have been happy for them to remain either size, but the sudden change? Horrid.

This yarn isn’t striped, that’s the problem. It’s just variegated, and unpredictably so. This pattern is rigid in the fact that you need to have the vertical stripes a specific size, therefore there must be a precise number of stitches. And it’s too big. If I recall correctly, I found the right size in this pattern for me, but I got horrible pooling. Too many bloody adjustments…this is not going to work.

I do like variegated yarn, but it’s becoming clear to me that it doesn’t work unless the colours resemble each other somewhat, like with my mom’s socks. All this contrast draws the eye incorrectly and the horrid nature of the colour changes just jump out. I’m going to try Anastasia Socks with it, as I just think it will work better. So much wasted time with this yarn is making me a little sorry that I bought these, as they’re also Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock variegated:
Bittersweet

I just need to find a pattern that suits it – I’m sure there’s something out there. Also, I don’t know how to explain my attraction to orange lately. I have never liked it. Nor have I ever been attracted to warm shades. Is it the new 30 year old hormones?
