My poorly SKB…

Well here is what it looks like at the moment:
SKB - nearly done

*sobs* The neck is horrible. I swear I used stitch markers and measured correctly. I looked at a lot of finished ones on Ravelry, and none of them look like this. Possibly it is a gauge issue – I can’t remember how I settled on the smaller needles, whether I made sure the gauge was spot on or not. I didn’t mind it being a little looser for the sake of fitting around my arms and middle (all the lace is on the smaller needles). I may need to either swatch again and use smaller needles to get the right gauge (*cries*) or compensate for my slightly larger gauge. I’m very disappointed right now – too disappointed to actually fix it for this moment. I want to wear it in a month or so, so I *will* do it…but it needs to hibernate for another week, I think.

Otherwise, I’m happy with how the rest of it fits. It fits perfectly, and the sleeves are just right for me. I didn’t go for a full long sleeve – they end a few inches up my arm. I’ll be happier that way, ultimately. But yeah – what I thought was going to be an accomplished finish turned out not to be. I expect I’ll be enthused when I’ve done it properly.
