Exterminate!

Or, Extermaknit as the author calls it! Here he is…

Dalek

I think he came out quite good. I think I could have done this at a tighter gauge to save some of the resulting proportion problems. I did this on US6/4mm needles – started on dpns, but I kept losing stitches, so I switched to the magic loop. I have mixed feelings about the loop – it works, definitely, but I don’t think I like it. I should have used 5 dpns instead of 4, but to order another set of dpns seemed silly. After all, there are many more uses for a 32″ circ than 9 dpns of the same size. Anyway…

The bobbles were…interesting. There are 56 in all. I’ve never made bobbles before this. The colourwork was fun. Look at the wrong side!

Wrong side Dalek

The k1, p1 came out nicely on the wrong side…I did two handed fair isle! It was a trick working out how to maintain tension on the yarn in my left hand. It wasn’t always easy, but I got it to work! I can knit with the yarn in my left hand pretty easy (except for the tension) but in this case, I had to purl. All sorted in the end though.

All in all, a fun and easy knit. I hope the recipient likes it! :D
