I’ve gone a few more rows since I took those photos, and I pretty much have only 2 rows before I join the V neck and start working in the round. Then to figure out this lace panel…in order to get the recommended gauge in st st, I have to go down not one, not two, but THREE needle sizes. I find this bizarre and disturbing. So, my plan is to try knitting the lace pattern on those needles and see what it blocks out to…because otherwise, it’s not going to fit my somewhat ample midsection. I figured out that I need 5.5 sts to the inch (instead of 7) for it to fit. So I’m going to see how this goes. Trial and error, yes, but I want it to fit!
